Made to Measure

Each mural is custom printed to the dimensions ordered for your ceiling.

The mural is supplied in 19.3-inch (49 cm) wide panels. Because the design is printed in complete panels, available widths are offered in set increments based on the panel width.

Each panel is marked and numbered in the correct installation order.

Measuring Your Ceiling

Carefully measure the full width and length of the ceiling at several points and use the largest measurements.

We recommend adding at least 2 inches to both the total width and length to allow for walls and ceilings that may not be perfectly straight.

Do not subtract openings or other areas that will be cut out during installation. The mural should be ordered for the complete ceiling area so the design remains continuous.

L-Shaped and Irregular Ceilings

Our custom murals are printed in a rectangular shape.

For an L-shaped or irregular ceiling, measure the full width and length needed to create a rectangle covering the entire area. The sections that are not needed can then be cut away during installation.

Ordering the mural as one complete rectangle allows the design to remain continuous and the pattern to match throughout the ceiling.

If an L-shaped ceiling is ordered as two separate murals, each mural will be scaled individually according to its dimensions. The pattern will therefore not match between the two murals.

Installation Direction

Before ordering, consider the direction in which you would like the design to run across the ceiling.

The panels are numbered in installation order. Before beginning installation, lay out the panels and confirm the orientation of the mural and where the first panel should be positioned.

Material

Our murals are printed on a high-quality non-woven wallpaper material designed for paste-the-surface installation.

The material provides:

The wallpaper is made using sustainably sourced wood fibers and meets applicable product and environmental standards.

Installing a Mural on a Ceiling

Ceiling installation is generally easier with two people, especially when working with longer panels.

1. Before installation, verify the mural dimensions and inspect all panels for damage or visible defects.
2. Lay the mural out on a clean, dry surface.
3. Cut the panels along the indicated scissor markings.
4. Arrange the numbered panels in the correct installation order.
5. Confirm the orientation of the mural and the starting position of Panel 1 before applying adhesive.
6. Apply an adhesive suitable for non-woven wallpaper directly to the prepared ceiling.
7. Install Panel 1 and continue with the numbered panels in order.
8. Install each panel edge-to-edge without overlapping.
9. Carefully align the design between adjoining panels.
10. Smooth each panel carefully against the ceiling, working out air pockets without stretching the wallpaper.
11. Trim excess wallpaper along the walls and around any openings or fixtures.
12. Remove excess adhesive immediately with a clean, damp sponge or soft cloth.

Because each mural is custom printed specifically to your ordered dimensions, it cannot be returned or refunded unless there is a confirmed manufacturing defect or error.

Please carefully check your measurements, design orientation, and all specifications before approving or placing your order.

Shipping

Wallpaper samples ship free via USPS from our showroom in Sarasota, Florida.

We offer free shipping on wallpaper roll orders over $150 within the United States. A flat $45 shipping fee applies to wallpaper roll orders of $150 or less. Wallpaper roll orders are shipped using UPS, FedEx, or DHL.

Estimated Delivery Times

Standard Wallpaper Rolls:
Most standard wallpaper orders have an estimated delivery time of 6–8 business days from order placement to delivery.

Ulricehamns Tapetfabrik – Select Designs:
Some designs are printed to order and have an estimated delivery time of 3–4 weeks. Any extended lead time is clearly noted on the individual product page.

Custom & Made-to-Measure Murals:
Customized and made-to-measure wallpaper murals have an estimated delivery time of 10–15 business days from order placement to delivery.

Business days are Monday through Friday, excluding applicable Swedish and U.S. public holidays.

International Shipping & Customs

Many of our wallpaper orders are shipped directly from our manufacturers in Sweden using UPS, FedEx, or DHL and must clear U.S. customs before delivery.

The delivery times listed above are estimates and are provided as a guide only. While most orders arrive within the estimated timeframe, occasional delays may occur due to customs processing, carrier delays, stock availability, holidays, or other circumstances outside our control.

Any applicable tariffs that we account for are included in the prices shown on our website.

Returns & Refunds

Standard wallpaper products purchased from Scandinavian Wallpaper may be returned within 45 days of delivery. We recommend ordering a sample before purchasing wallpaper rolls, as colors may appear differently on your screen than they do in person.

Return Requirements

To be eligible for a return:

• Wallpaper rolls must be unopened and in their original plastic wrapping.
• Returns must be shipped in appropriate packaging to prevent damage during transit.
• Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs.
• A 25% restocking fee applies to returned wallpaper rolls.
• Original shipping charges, if applicable, are non-refundable.
• Once we receive and inspect the returned wallpaper and confirm that it is in good, resalable condition, the applicable refund will be issued.
• Wallpaper samples are non-returnable.

Custom & Personalized Products

Products that are made to your specifications or otherwise customized or personalized are not eligible for return or refund.

This includes our custom-printed wallpaper murals, which are produced specifically for each customer based on the measurements, design specifications, and/or other selections provided and approved at the time of ordering.

We strongly recommend carefully reviewing all measurements, design previews, and specifications before approving a custom order. Once a custom order has been approved and submitted for production, it cannot be returned or refunded.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

If your order arrives damaged or you receive an incorrect item, please contact us as soon as possible at cs@scandinavianwallpaper.com and include your order number and photos of the product, packaging, and shipping label.

Damaged or incorrectly shipped items are handled separately from standard returns and are not subject to the 25% restocking fee when the issue is confirmed to be the responsibility of Scandinavian Wallpaper, the manufacturer, or the shipping carrier.

Please keep the product and all original packaging until we have reviewed your claim and provided further instructions.
