Peel & Stick installation guide
Effortless, mess-free, and removable—just stick and smooth!
Our Peel & Stick wallpapers are crafted from high-quality non-woven material with a self-adhesive backing. Visually identical to our standard wallpapers, this version offers a clean, glue-free installation process—ideal for temporary or low-commitment decorating with lasting results.
⚠️ Important Notes Before You Begin:
-
Not suitable for heavily textured surfaces or textured paints.
-
Freshly painted walls should cure for at least 4 weeks before application (follow your paint manufacturer's instructions).
-
Wall must be clean, dry, smooth, and of uniform light color.
-
Allow wallpaper to acclimate for 24 hours in the room prior to installation.
-
Always test a small area for compatibility before starting your full install.
-
For damaged or porous walls, apply a water-based primer/sealant before installation.
-
Repeat Step 4 (pressing firmly with a smoother) after one week to reinforce adhesion.
🛠 Tools You’ll Need:
-
Plastic smoother/squeegee
-
Sharp utility or razor knife
-
Spirit level or plumb line
-
Straight edge or ruler
-
Pencil or pen for marking
🧽 Surface Preparation:
-
Clean the wall thoroughly—free from dust, grease, and residue.
-
If using a damp cloth, ensure the wall is fully dry before installation.
🧱 Installation Steps:
-
Mark a Vertical Guide:
Use a spirit level and pencil to draw a vertical line equal to one panel’s width. This will keep your first panel straight. -
Peel & Position:
Peel about 10 inches of the backing paper and carefully position the panel along your guide line. -
Apply with Pressure:
Press the exposed adhesive section firmly to the wall using your smoother or squeegee. -
Remove Air Bubbles:
Work from the center outward to push out any air pockets using your squeegee. -
Seal the Edges:
Ensure the edges are flat and fully adhered to the wall. -
Continue Installing:
Peel back an additional 10 inches of the backing at a time and smooth the wallpaper onto the wall. -
Repeat for Remaining Panels:
Apply each new panel edge-to-edge, aligning the pattern as needed.
❓ How Removable Is Peel & Stick Wallpaper?
Peel & Stick wallpaper is designed to be removable with minimal effort—if applied to the right surface and removed carefully.
Things to Keep in Mind:
-
Best results on smooth, painted walls (especially satin or semi-gloss finishes).
-
Matte or flat paints may absorb adhesive, making removal more difficult.
-
Textured walls may reduce adhesion, making removal easier but less secure during use.
-
While removal typically leaves no damage, we cannot guarantee that the surface will be unaffected—always remove with care.
-
Expected lifespan: 1–2 years, depending on surface and environment.
